Matchday eight of the Masaza Cup was marred by controversy as two games ended prematurely due to fan pitch invasions.

The first incident occurred during the highly anticipated clash between rivals Kyaddondo and Buddu at Homisdallen Playground in the Bulange group.

With the score tied at 2-2, a penalty awarded to Buddu sparked Kyaddondo fans to storm the pitch, forcing the referee to abandon the game.

Unfortunately, several Buddu fans were reportedly attacked and injured by Kyaddondo supporters after the game.

Another game, between Ssingo and Kooki in the Muganzirwaza group, also failed to reach its conclusion. Kooki players and staff protested a penalty awarded to Ssingo in the 75th minute by refusing to play for the remaining minutes, leading to the match being ended early.

Despite these incidents, the remaining games were completed without major issues.

In the Bulange group, Bulemeezi and Bugerere played out a goalless draw, while Butambala secured a 2-1 victory over Buluuli, thanks to goals from Nicholas Kirabira and Derrick Walugemve.

In the Muganzirwaza group, Buweekula and Kyaggwe drew 0-0, while Gomba defeated Mawogola 3-1, with Jeremiah Rwotho scoring a brace.

Kabula sealed their quarterfinal spot in the Masengere group with a late win over Busiro, courtesy of Patrick Mutebi’s goal.
Mawokota and Busujju also secured wins in the same group, with Mawokota edging Buvuma 1-0 and Busujju beating Ssese 2-0.
